I read a lot of children’s books, and I write them too.

Jenny Bowman is a full time freelance editor and an aspiring children’s book author. Passionate about writing, she authored (and illustrated!) her first book at the age of eight then completed her first published work, a Valentine’s poem for overseas troops, the following year. Since then, Jenny has been writing silly short stories, angsty teenage journals, artsy college poetry, low-budget indie screenplays, articles and opinion pieces, plus two middle grade novels and about a million and one picture book drafts.

Jenny runs a busy freelance, editing business where she specializes in children’s books. Having edited over 100 books for children to young adults, including books on the NYT bestseller list, Jenny enjoys teaching others about the craft of writing for children.

When she’s not editing or writing, Jenny enjoys backyard birding, experimenting in the kitchen and garden, traveling with her husband and two sons, and losing track of time on the beach.
